August Workplace Culture Campaign
At Nurse Assist 24/7, we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and safe — not just in policy, but in practice.
This month’s focus in our “Positive Work Culture” campaign is something subtle, yet incredibly powerful:
Non-Verbal Communication. The way we nod in meetings. The facial expressions we give when listening. The space we offer when someone’s overwhelmed. These small actions speak volumes.
Why Non-Verbal Cues Matter
In a high-empathy environment like disability support, not everyone can or will say how they feel — but that doesn’t mean they’re not communicating.
Support workers, admin staff, nurses — we all play a role in reading the room, offering reassurance, and making each other feel safe.
Whether it’s:
•A simple “thumbs up” to encourage a colleague
•Respectful eye contact during feedback
•Or offering help before being asked
These gestures help us move from just working in a team to truly working as one.
Small Habits, Big Impact
Here are 3 things you can try today:
1. Notice facial expressions – They’re often more honest than words.
2 .Use supportive body language – Nodding, smiling, and open posture build comfort.
3 . Respect personal space – Not everyone recharges the same way.
Because culture isn’t built with posters, it’s built in moments.
Let’s be mindful of what we’re saying — even when we’re not speaking.
Together, we can make Nurse Assist 24/7 not just a place where people work, but where people thrive.
Want to be part of shaping our culture?
We’d love your input.
