Nurse Assist 247 supports riding to fight kids’ cancer

This October, Nurse Assist 247 staff member Francis Palmer is taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to support childhood cancer research. Nurse Assist 247 is proud to support the challenge as a sponsor and recognise Francis’s effort for a cause that affects children and families across Australia.
The Great Cycle Challenge is a national fundraising initiative of the Children’s Medical Research Institute. Riders set a personal distance goal and cycle throughout October, raising funds for research into better treatments and cures for childhood cancers.
Francis has shared two Samsung Health ride records covering a combined 58.32 km. One records 24.91 km in 1 hour, 16 minutes and 3 seconds. The other, dated 4 October 2026, records 33.41 km in 1 hour, 47 minutes and 53 seconds. Together, these rides represent just over three hours on the bike.
| Shared ride record | Distance | Ride duration | Average speed |
| First supplied summary | 24.91 km | 1:16:03 | 19.6 km/h |
| 4 October 2026 | 33.41 km | 1:47:53 | 18.5 km/h |
| Combined records | 58.32 km | 3:03:56 | — |
These figures reflect the two records supplied, rather than a final total for the month. With October underway, we are cheering Francis on as the challenge continues.
