Shared Respect, Shared Future
This week, from July 6 to 13, we join communities across Australia to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2025 — a time to honour the rich history, achievements, and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
At Nurse Assist 24/7, this isn’t just a celebration. It’s a moment of reflection and solidarity — a chance to listen, learn, and show up with genuine respect for the world’s oldest living cultures.
NAIDOC Week is about truth-telling, healing, and hope. It’s about recognising that the path to inclusion, justice, and equality runs through the stories and strength of First Nations peoples.
As an NDIS provider, we support participants from all walks of life — including those from diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. NAIDOC Week reminds us that delivering quality care means understanding the cultural lens through which people live, heal, and connect.
How We Honour NAIDOC Week at Nurse Assist 24/7
Listening and Learning – We’re committed to learning from Aboriginal-led voices, acknowledging past and present injustices, and respecting cultural knowledge.
Inclusive Care – Our staff are encouraged to approach every interaction with cultural humility — recognising that health and wellbeing are deeply connected to family, land, and identity.
Community Support – We encourage active participation in local NAIDOC events and initiatives that uplift First Nations communities.
First Nations people with disability often face intersecting challenges — including health inequities, systemic barriers, and historical trauma. NAIDOC Week gives us the chance to reflect on how we can do better — and do more.
We believe care is more than a service — it’s a relationship. One built on trust, dignity, and cultural respect. NAIDOC Week is a reminder that strength comes from diverse stories, deep roots, and shared responsibility.
We stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples — this week and always.
